https://journals.wsb.poznan.pl/index.php/dnswsb/article/view/1949

The article focuses on the controversial "Polski Ład" reform and the effects of its introduction from the perspective of local government units, using the example of Krotoszyn. The "Polski Ład" program is one of the largest events regarding public finances in the history of Poland. Changes in the forms of income settlement, especially in the case of personal income tax (PIT), are very radical and will bring long-lasting effects. The article attempts to analyze how the introduced reforms, especially regarding income tax and the tax-free amount, influenced the structure of the budget of the commune and the city of Krotoszyn in 2022, as well as investment plans. Given that there are few studies on the impact of the “Polski Ład” on the state of local finances, the results obtained may be a good starting point for further research.
Mateusz Janiak

https://journals.wsb.poznan.pl/index.php/dnswsb/article/view/1954

The aim of the research was to identify the needs of the residents of the Silesian province on the basis of the allocation of civic budgets of individual municipalities in 2019-2021. The authors collected data on civic budgets through public information mechanisms. The data included not only information on the earmarking of budgets, but also quantitative data on the number of projects carried out and the funds allocated for them.

The results of the qualitative research show that residents of the Silesian region are most willing to allocate civic budgets for tasks related to sports, entertainment and culture. These are the needs that the region's residents consider to be either the most important or not satisfied to the expected degree. In second place are needs related to order and security. Further down the list, residents of the Silesian region support road infrastructure projects. In contrast, projects to finance housing needs, as well as local public transportation, are the least popular. A somewhat sad observation was the reluctance of municipalities to allocate participatory budgets for activating seniors.
Adrianna Siostrzonek-SergielNatalia MakuratMartyna TemichKatarzyna Drabik

Inflation is the rate of increase in prices over a given period, it is a key economic indicator that directly impacts the daily lives of citizens. The consequence of this process is a decrease in the purchasing power of the national currency. Consequently, savers have less and less money, and placing savings in savings accounts becomes unprofitable because the changes between the rising cost of credit and the interest rates on deposits are disproportionate. This article aims to attempt to explain the relationship between the inflation rate and the value of savings, as well as the preferences for savings forms among Poles in the period 2020–2022.
Joanna WitkowskaAlicja SiemierzOles Pudiak

https://journals.wsb.poznan.pl/index.php/dnswsb/article/view/1962

Transport, particularly road transport, is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas
emissions and pollutants that negatively impact climate, human health, and the natural environment, alongside the energy and industrial sectors. Despite ongoing controversies, electrification
is a crucial solution for reducing the negative external costs associated with transport. However,
electric vehicles face challenges due to their limited range and long charging times, necessitating
a comprehensive network of charging stations. This network’s inadequate availability significantly
impedes electromobility advancement, and Poland has substantial work to do in this area. This article aims to develop an original algorithm for assessing the location of charging stations to enhance
their usability for electric vehicle users. We have created a tool for evaluating potential and existing
charging station locations based on previous surveys of current and potential users and a review of
existing literature. The main advantage of this tool is its comprehensiveness and ease of use, making
it highly applicable for local authorities to assess planned charging stations within their jurisdictions.
Hubert IglińskiZuzanna MisiekJulia Olszewska
