Stress Level and the Nature of Professional Work - an Attempt to Describe the Phenomenon

Katarzyna Michalak

Abstract

The main issue discussed in this article is the broadly understood concept of stress in psychological terms and its impact on professional work. The aim of the study presented in the article was to determine the degree of stress intensity of 80 employees performing administrative and office work and tasks requiring physical effort. In addition, an attempt was made to determine to what extent three dimensions of stress - emotional tension, external stress and intrapsychic stress - can affect the overall stress level of the subjects.
