Innovation Activity and Its Role in Limiting the Economic Effects of the COVID Pandemic

Filip Niedziela

Abstract

Existing research indicates that there is a high positive correlation between the level of economic growth and domestic R&D expenditure. In the study described in the article the author examines the correlation between GDP decreases in 2020 and the amount of innovation, research and development spending in the period 2015-2018 to determine whether countries that invested more in innovation were less affected by the recession than those that invested less.
