Organizational Factors Supporting Work-Life Balance from the Point of view of Different Generations of People Working in Poland and Denmark

Abstract

The ability to balance professional and personal life is currently a huge challenge for employees, not only in Poland, but also elsewhere in the world. Employees have to choose between a focusing on their professional career and other areas of life, such as family or social relations, which has a number of consequences not only for them but also for their company and society as a whole. The article presents results of a study of factors that help to maintain a balance between work and personal life, which is based on information collected from Polish and Danish employees. The results provide insights into how employees perceive their work-life balance, what organizational factors supporting work-life balance are important for each generation and what activities organizations undertake to promote work-life balance.
