The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership - a Systematic Review

Abstract

Aim: The following work aims to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and transformational leadership. Method: The research method chosen to achieve this goal is a systematic literature review. Eighteen empirical studies were subjected to analysis. The identified works were analyzed to find answers to the research questions. Findings: Through the selected method, it has been demonstrated that the topics of emotional intelligence and transformational leadership are of considerable interest. Furthermore, a significant portion of the results indicates a relationship between these two concepts. Conclusion: Having emotionally intelligent leaders brings many benefits to organizations and businesses. Emotional intelligence in transformational leadership positively influences the success of a project, employee engagement, work efficiency, and intention to remain in a given profession.
