International Trade in Goods among the Member Countries of the Andean Community in the Years 2007-2017

Kamil Majcher

Abstract

The main aim of this article is to examine international trade in goods in the Andean Community in the period 2007-2017. In the empirical part, the author describes the size, dynamics and structure (product range and geographical scope) of this sector. According to the structural analysis based on the SITC classification, between 2007 and 2017, CAN exports were dominated by the sale of homogeneous products, such as mineral fuels, lubricants and related goods. While the USA has been the most important trading partner of the CAN group (for export and import trade), one can observe the growing role of China and other Latin American countries (e.g. Mexico and Brazil).
