Abstract

This article presents definitions and classifications of small and medium enterprises in Poland. It shows the role of micro, small and medium enterprises in the development of the Polish economy throughout the period of 2005-2008. Moreover, the article shows the basic financing structure of small enterprises and highlights the constant capital role as a financial security buffer. The debt ratio calculations concerning small enterprises in Poland during the analyzed period are included in this paper.
