Organizational Climate and Employee Well-being — Their Role in Building Organizational Commitment

Abstract

Purpose: To explore the importance of a sense of well-being and the significance of the relationship between employees' sense of commitment to the organization that employs them and the climate within it, to define organizational areas that require management action to increase employees’ commitment to their current workplace. Material & Methods: A statistical analysis based on a quantitative correlational study was performed for the simultaneous measurement of all three variables under consideration, which are work climate, organizational commitment, and employees' sense of well-being. Results: The statistical analysis of the study confirmed the assumption of a positive perception of the work climate by the employees and how they perceive themself through it, on the increase in their attachment to the organization based on the affective component of organizational commitment, which is characterized by positive emotions. The relationship between work climate and an employee's sense of well-being was also confirmed. Conclusions: The study identified areas of work climate that, if properly managed, can positively affect both employees' commitment to the organization and their sense of well-being, which in turn can positively affect the performance of a given company.
