Medical Tourism : Theoretical Considerations

Abstract

Medical tourism is no longer perceived as just a new socio-economic trend. Nowadays, various needs and reasons for travelling for health purposes can be realised in many different forms of tourism - to which the author draws attention by attempting to systematize the terminology of medical tourism. Too often this term is used synonymously with such concepts as health tourism, wellness tourism, and sanatorium tourism. (original abstract)
