Abstract

Tourism and recreation is specifically linked to the perception of the landscape. The effect of total relaxation is achieved in an attractive multi-sensory landscape, which is also registered by other senses than sight. The aim of the study was to identify the multi-sensory landscape and to try to demonstrate their importance in the process of non-visual perception of urban space, which may be of particular importance in shaping the attractive spaces for tourist and recreation, especially for people with disabilities. The research method used was a questionnaire, which covered a variety of audiences. In light of the research done, it seems that in the design of public urban spaces, particularly areas of leisure and recreation function, it is advisable to use and preserve the natural values of the environment, since they have a positive impact on non-visual perceptions.(original abstract)
