Legal Protection of Cultural Goods and Tourism

Marek Grzegorz Nowak

Abstract

The protection of cultural goods is a part of the international humanitarian law. It means, that norms of international law protect both people and cultural goods at the time of military threat. There is a strict connection between cultural goods and tourism. If, from the touristic point of view there were no tourist products labeled as cultural goods, surely tourism would be limited. There is no touristic event during which people do not visit any museums or monuments. With the progress of tourism exists also the necessity of protecting cultural goods by international conventions and interior law at the time of war or peace.(original abstract)
