The article compares of the efficiency of anti-pandemic measures in different societies taking into account Geert Hofstede's six dimensions of national culture. The study is based on the assumption that cultural characteristics of a given society affect its response to the pandemic and, consequently, the efficiency of anti-epidemic measures taken by the government. The author analyses available data on the efficiency of anti-epidemic measures in different countries and concludes that some of Hofstede's six dimensions have a considerable impact on the efficiency of anti-epidemic measures, while others have almost no effect.(original abstract)
