The Polish banking sector (construed so in geographical terms) retains a stable position despite the crisis in the financial market. A study undertaken in a group of commercial banks aimed to identify and verify the determinants of a consolidation process. Another important objective was to establish the principal motives behind Polish banks' consolidation decisions.
