The Key Elements of the Context of the Preparation and Implementation of Research Projects Influencing Effectiveness of the Research Management

Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the key elements of the context of the preparation and implementation of research projects, influencing effectiveness of research management process within Polish research organisations. Discussed within are important management areas, which are present in each phase of the research project life cycle, the role of the research team with special attention to the role of the research manager, and the importance of defining and further developing institutional support for performing research projects. Nowadays, research organizations in Poland are more active in applying for external funds for innovative research, both at a national and international level. Topics presented in this article are crucial to elaborate an effective approach to performing a research management process in each organization, while performing single projects, whole programmes of research projects, and finally, the organisation's project portfolio.(original abstract)Keywords:
