The Impact of Business Support Centers on Innovative Activities in Manufacturing Companies Using the Example of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship

Abstract
Economic development research shows the best way to achieve developed status for a country. Poland, as a country that is catching-up, wants to achieve this target. Innovations can help; however, implementing innovations by single companies is a challenge. To help resolve this issue, a stimulation of knowledge transfer from science to business by local government is a necessity. As a result, some business support organizations were born to help cope with this problem. This article, taking advantage of probit models, presents the impact of business support organizations on innovative activity of manufacturing companies in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The main theses of the article are as follows: 1) measuring the effectiveness of business support organizations in stimulating innovative activity is varied, some of them have reached critical values, others have no impact on innovative activity; and 2) the downward movement in business cycles leads to problems with the activity of financial institution.(original abstract)Keywords:
