Corporate Social Responsibility as an Opportunity for the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

Abstract

The last few years in Poland were a period of rapid development of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). As a result of this, an attempt was made to try to show that this process has an impact on small and medium-sized enterprises. Based on the assumption that the adaptation of socially responsible business behavior is the domain of creating good relations with its environment, it is appropriate to address the concept of small and medium-sized enterprises. The aim of the article is to assess the owner's of small and medium-sized companies awareness, on corporate social responsibility and its impact on the development of enterprises. To achieve this ambitious objective a questionnaire was prepared. Based on these results, the degree of knowledge of the concept of corporate social responsibility is assessed from the opinions of entrepreneurs - more specifically, owners of small and medium-sized companies located in the Lodz region.(original abstract)
