Prospects of Using EU Funds for Regional and Local Development

Abstract
We are used to the fact that investments in improving both living conditions of the population and the activity of economic entities that are made by Polish self-governments are substantially financed from the EU non-repayable aid. However, in 2013 the present financial perspective of using EU funds comes to an end, and the functioning of the cohesion policy in the future has not been entirely identified yet. Self-governments are to decide to what extent they can count on European funds in terms of using them to finance development investment in communities, poviats or voivodships. In addition to this, also to establish if they could afford such investment while taking into account the government's financial standing.(original abstract)Keywords:
