Changes in Population Potential of Krakow Metropolitan Area and their Implications

Abstract
The aim of the paper is to characterize changes in population movements and migrations of Krakow Metropolitan Area against change dynamics in population of that area. The years 1999- -2010 have been analyzed. The analysis has been based on population development types according to the Webb method. It enables to recognize the relations between population growth and balance of migration. The analysis has revealed diversification of level and dynamics of changes that take place in the analyzed area which results from differences in population movements and migrations in particular communes. The conclusions of the study refer to the future period.(original abstract)Keywords:
