Contemporary Problems of Inner City Space as Exemplified by Opole

Abstract
The issues of spatial development are addressed, as they apply to land management in one of the most valuable areas of Opole - the city center. Social and spatial conflicts are presented, together with their historical background. The city of Opole is used as an example, to illustrate some of the most prevailing issues of Polish cities nowadays. The diagnosis of the most pertinent problems in land development and functionality of the city center is presented, with most important tasks postulated to preserve this most valuable fragment of city structure. The principal objective is to reorganize the space, to make it attractive and to bring spatial order with the view of improving life quality of its inhabitants.(original abstract)Keywords:
