Financing Selected Investments as Exemplified by Municipal Economy of the Łódź City Hall

Abstract
The article discusses financing selected investments and managing municipal structure. Fulfilling the basic needs of the citizens is indispensably connected with well-functioning municipal infrastructure (water supply and sewage systems, heating systems, electric systems, road infrastructure) that is one of the major investment priorities of every community. The aim of the article is evaluation of activities of one of the City Hall organization units, i.e. Department of Public Utilities, which deals with managing infrastructure and municipal investments and their financing. The article contains concise comments concerning the amount of expenses on selected municipal investments in Łódź in recent years. It presents examples of such investments with particular attention placed on one such capital expenditure.(original abstract)Keywords:
