Information and IT as Instrument for Creating Local Development

Abstract
This article illustrates the role of promotional and IT instruments in the creation of local development. The concept of local development and the mission are defined and the mission's objectives, to be achieved by the local authority's administration, are set out. Comment is made on the responsibility of local authorities for creating development, as well as citizens' participation in the decisions taken. The importance is stressed of the appropriate selection of tools for information management and information technology in achieving positive results. Institutional acts concerning territorial units are also discussed. (original abstract)Keywords:
