Helping the Local Government for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Region of Lublin

Abstract
Lublin is one of the poorest regions in Polish in 2006 was also the region with the lowest regional GDP in the European Union. Underdeveloped sector of small and medium enterprises, poor road infrastructure are all factors that also affect low investment attractiveness of the region. The article presents the role of local government in shaping the economic potential of the example the region of Lublin. Presented to local development based on statistical information, and formulates conclusions regarding the role of local authorities in raising and using European Union funds.
