The Influence of the Financial Crisis on the Structure of the Public Debt in the Euro Area

Abstract
The aim of this paper is analysis of the structure of the public debt in the euro area during the financial crisis. This analysis concerns the public debt, as percentage of GDP, by financial instrument and sector of the holder. The financial crisis influences on the structure of the public debt in the euro area. During the financial crisis, long-term securities decrease and short-term securities increase, as financial instruments. In the same time, the public debt decreases in the non-financial sector and slightly increases in the financial sector, as holders.(original abstract)Keywords:
