In Search of an Enterprise Architecture Modelling Language

Abstract
Until now, no one leading language dedicated to Enterprise Architecture modelling was developed. Attempts to use solutions already existing on the market (in particular, UML or BPMN) cannot be found completely satisfactory. Therefore, a few years ago works on the Archi Mate language were started, which would de facto become a standard in this field. A purpose of this article is to carry out a comparative study of three languages (UML, BPMN, ArchiMate) to find the best solution possible in regard to realization of the Enterprise Architecture concept. For this purpose, authors used a specifically adopted SWOT technique. It allowed to get comparable results and to draw final conclusions. (original abstract)Keywords:
