Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) as IT-based Processes Supporting Tool

Wojciech Fliegner

Abstract

Experience database as part of corporate memories is important as element of knowledge management in an organization, but still many organizations do not have such database despite of the fact they possesses many other computer-based information systems. This article proposes a way of introducing an experience database for organizations, which have process management systems. The solution is illustrated on jBPM system from J Boss, but there are also clues how to implement it on other workflow systems. The article presents an example of system based on technique Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) to workflow modelling. This paper shows possible areas, where CBR is able to support reuse of software artifacts. Requirements specified in Requirements Specification Language (RSL) form the basis for creating complete software cases which have the potential for reusing them. (original abstract)
