Artur Paździor

Abstract

This article presents a short characteristics of Polish Voivodeships. The author also presents an analysis of factors which determine a development of individual regions. Data presented in this article show that the division between Poland A and В has well grounded in social-economic factors. Voivodeships from the right bank of the Vistula river characterize a significantly lower level of DGP per capita, higher unemployment rate, poorer infrastructure and low professional activity indicator. The reasons of such state of affairs can be found in not proper policy of central and local authority, poor educational background and worker's mobility, low level of innovativeness and poor infrastructure.
