Total Debt of Local Government Units in the Province of Śląskie in the Period Between 2006 and 2010

Abstract
Total debt of local government units of Silesia [Śląskie] Province shows systematic increase. The necessity to undertake liabilities results from growing budget deficit, caused by increase in expenditures exceeding income increase. Credit and loan liabilities constitute the most important part of local government units' debt amount, while government securities constitute financial instruments adopted mainly by cities with county (powiat) rights. Expenditures on debt service are rising in recent years as well. (original abstract)Keywords:
