Non-Standardized Securitization Funds

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the development of the securitization funds on the Polish market. The analyzed period is the 2005 (creation of the first securitization funds) - 2009. At the beginning the legal bases for the creation of securitization funds were presented - mainly the Law on Investment Funds (2004), as well as the amendment of the Banking Act (2004). Than the Polish securitization funds genesis was presented. Within these few years dozens of investment funds were created, currently 22 funds are active and managed by 9 investment companies. In Europe, there is not too many securitization funds, but in terms of net asset value Polish securitization funds do not look good. The last part of the article presents the prospects for further securitization funds development on the Polish capital market and the conditions that must be met to continue this development.
