UE Budget and New Financial Perspective Adoption Consequences for Polish Economy

Waldemar Polak

Abstract

This study is an attempt to assess how the new financial strategy of the European Union affects Poland. The main problem which Poland faces after five years of being a member of EU is the capacity of the regions to absorb constantly increasing help from the EU budget (in the 2006 the financial help increased four times, and in 2008 two times). If we want to make a good use of such significant help we have to change the system of public finance and rules of public administration. More efficient and flawless use of the budget funds can be guaranteed by managing the public finances according to European standards and having it controlled and assessed by EU. (original abstract)
