Role of Small and Medium Enterprises in Regional Development

Abstract

Regional policy is important element of social and economical policy. It main purpose is improvement of the regions competitiveness, reinforcement of economic cohesion, long-term economic development of state and integration with European Union. Small and medium enterprises (SME) sector fulfills important role in regional policy, because the level of its development in region decides in considerable measure about economic competitiveness of region. And such placing of SME sector is important in regional policy of state, in order to it was placed among preemptive development purposes. (original abstract)
