    Payment security in the digital era

    Abstract

    This article is about the security of online payments in the digital age. The aim of the study was to identify factors influencing users' sense of security and their concerns about electronic payments. A quantitative method was used - a survey, conducted among 103 students at WSB Merito University. The results of the survey showed that the majority of respondents use online payments on a regular basis and their main concern is unauthorised charges due to the theft of financial data. Additionally, respondents considered advanced security measures, such as two-step verification, to be important to protect transactions. Findings from the survey suggest that education about banking security standards and regularly changing passwords can help increase user confidence in digital payments and make transactions more secure.
