The Unique Characteristics of Private Banking Services

Abstract

Private banking is an integral component of Poland's modern and rapidly growing market for banking services. At the same time, it is a segment of the banking industry that has experienced significant changes over the last several years. The expectations of an increasing number of well-to-do clients have put a pressure on seeking a competitive edge by developing and launching new financial products. The paper discusses the salient characteristics, such as e.g. the criteria for market segmentation, and the evolution of private banking in Poland, and offers a review of exclusive payment cards representing an emblematic private banking product.(original abstract)
