Decentralization in Capital Groups constituting a special form of Networks

Aneta Surmiak

Abstract

In this article categories of capital groups and networks are compared, and at the same time, it is demonstrated that in particular circumstances a capital group may be considered a special form of a network. In the above context an analysis is presented of the theoretical basis of decentralization, as a formal autonomy, which constitutes the subject of interest of strategic managers facing a dilemma regarding the placement of decisional competences in their organizations. At the same time, the author highlights that due to the acceptance of the claim that a capital group constitutes a form of a network, the analysis of decentralization should be considered valuable in terms of researches in the field of networks as well.(original abstract)
