An Evaluation of the Availability of Funding to the MSME Sector as Exemplified by the Śląskie Province of Poland

Abstract
Over the last two decades micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) were the fastest growing sector of Poland's economy. It has become a major driver of economic growth, accounting for a significant number of jobs and making a substantial contribution to the GDP. Among the barriers to its continued growth, there are tax-related and legal-administrative constraints, or a lack of a qualified workforce. However, it seems that the greatest problem that the sector faces is funding. This paper aims to identify the most commonly used sources of SME financing alongside the companies' awareness of available funding sources, and the barriers to accessing these.(original abstract)Keywords:
