The Regional Innovation Strategy - a Theoretical and Methodological Discussion

Abstract
This discussion is centered around the essence of the concept of regional innovation strategy (RIS), the algorithm of its construction and activities crucial to the success of the endeavor. On the one hand, the scope of the discussion covers the main components of RIS, formulates the definition of RIS and identifies its function; on the other hand, it attempts to establish a definite sequence of activities with the aim of defining, implementing and evaluating RIS and to indicate the most important activities in the structure. Within it (consensus on regional innovative development, SWOT analysis of its innovativeness, setting and prioritizing pro-innovative needs of this space), recommendations are formulated. They indicate the necessity of including the properties of regional innovation systems in the process of RIS project development.(original abstract)Keywords:
