The Current Competency Requirements for Local Government Officers

Abstract
An important factor in regional development is the efficiency of the functioning of local public administration, both at the municipal, county and province. Competence and ability of officials to ensure their correct use by the management office decides to a large extent on the ability of the whole institution to obtain efficient service for investors and residents. The paper presents the most important qualification requirements necessary to perform efficient work in local government units. It also discusses the characteristics of social expectations about the quality of the officials and the postulated characteristics of the competences. (original abstract)Keywords:
