Competencies of Medical Staff in the Face of Challenges of the Modern Workplace in Health Care Organizations

Bernadeta Piszczygłowa

Abstract

Competencies of medical staff, i.e. their knowledge base and skills, can determine the company's advantage in a competitive market, especially in the area of medical services. This article aims to show the importance of competences that doctors, nurses and midwives are required to possess to obtain the right to practice and perform health care services and operate medical devices in health care organizations. The article presents statistical data on the number of professionals employed in Polish hospitals and the number of hospitalized patients. Another problem addressed by the author is the relationship between the likelihood of a health care provider signing a contract with the National Health Fund and the competence level of its staff.(original abstract)
