Abstract

Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy both in the European Union and in the world. Slovakia and Poland are unique countries with a similar history and conditions for tourism development. Slovakia, however, is a smaller country in comparison with Poland, but destination management organisations have also started to exist and are useful for regional development. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the contribution of destination management organizations to the regional development in Slovakia and Poland.(original abstract)
