Abstract
The goal of the study is to identify saving patterns of Polish households over the last decade. It was hypothesized that despite positive changes in the economy, a large percentage of savings was not invested and was kept as cash savings. This hypothesis was confirmed by the evidence found in banking sector documents as well as the social diagnosis report. Moreover, this type of savings are on the rise. Increasingly, people choose to save their money as bank deposits and are not discouraged by low interest rates. Instead, they seem to value the guarantee of security associated with bank deposits and savings accounts.(original abstract)Keywords:
